2027 Cadillac Escalade ESV: What Changed, What Stayed, and What It Costs

Walworth County families who need a third row adults can actually use, and anyone hauling a boat or camper to Lake Geneva, have a reason to look at the ESV.

The 2027 Cadillac Escalade ESV is the extended version of Cadillac's flagship SUV, and for 2027 it carries every change the standard Escalade does. Cadillac dropped the base trim, trimmed the lineup, and nudged prices up, while the 6.2L V8, the 55-inch screen, and standard Super Cruise carry over unchanged. The ESV adds 15 inches of length, a longer wheelbase, and far more cargo room behind the third row for $3,000 per trim. Here is what changed, what stayed, and what each ESV costs.

What the ESV Adds Over the Standard Escalade

The ESV stretches the Escalade's wheelbase from 121 inches to 134 inches and its overall length from 211.9 inches (17.6 feet) to 226.9 inches (18.9 feet). Nearly all of that extra length goes to cargo space and the third row. Cargo volume measures 41.5 cubic feet behind the third row (versus 25.5 in the standard Escalade), 94.1 cubic feet behind the second row (versus 72.9), and up to 142.2 cubic feet with the rear seats folded (versus 120.5). Cadillac puts the total gain at 21.7 cubic feet of cargo room and interior space.

Third-row legroom grows from 34.9 inches to 36.7 inches, while front legroom (44.5 inches) and second-row legroom (41.7 inches) match the standard Escalade. Both lengths seat seven or eight, depending on the second-row setup. The trade-off is size: at 18.9 feet, the ESV is a lot of vehicle to park and to fit into a garage. Maximum towing also dips slightly, to 8,000 lbs for a two-wheel-drive ESV versus 8,100 lbs for the standard length.

2027 Cadillac Escalade ESV Changes vs. 2026

The lineup shrank. Cadillac dropped the entry 1SA trim and the rear-wheel-drive versions of the Platinum Luxury and Platinum Sport, so the 2027 Escalade ESV comes as the Luxury (2WD or 4WD), Sport (2WD or 4WD), Platinum Luxury (4WD only), Platinum Sport (4WD only), and Escalade-V ESV (AWD). The cheapest ESV started at $96,995 for 2026 and now starts at $108,595, an increase of $11,600.

Smaller changes round out the year. Sandstone is a new exterior color, Aegean Stone and Magnus Metal Frost are gone, the torque badges on the tailgate are deleted, and the Onyx appearance packages were revised. GM has promised a Digital Key feature by over-the-air update, with no date announced. Night Vision is also constrained: according to GM Authority, it cannot currently be ordered on the Luxury or Sport, and Platinum models are building without it and carry a $2,000 credit, while the Escalade-V keeps it. Ask us for the current status before you order.

What Stayed the Same

Everything that makes the Escalade an Escalade carries over. The 6.2L V8 still makes 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque with a 10-speed automatic, the Escalade-V ESV keeps its supercharged 6.2L V8 with 682 horsepower and 653 lb-ft, and Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance (with a three-year OnStar One plan), the 55-inch Horizon Display, Google built-in, and the 21-speaker AKG Studio audio system remain standard. There is still no diesel: Cadillac dropped the 3.0L Duramax after the 2024 model year.

2027 Cadillac Escalade ESV Price by Trim

Prices below include the $2,895 destination charge. The ESV adds $3,000 to each trim, and four-wheel drive adds about $3,000 on the Luxury and Sport. The Luxury ESV starts at $108,595 and the Sport ESV at $109,195. The 4WD-only Platinum Luxury ESV starts at $130,095 and the Platinum Sport ESV at $130,595, and the Escalade-V ESV starts at $175,195.

Engines, Towing, and Fuel Economy

Two V8s power the ESV. The 6.2L V8 makes 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque and runs on premium gasoline with a 10-speed automatic, and the Escalade-V ESV's supercharged 6.2L V8 makes 682 horsepower and 653 lb-ft of torque. Maximum towing is 8,000 lbs for the two-wheel-drive ESV, 7,700 lbs for the four-wheel-drive ESV, and 7,000 lbs for the Escalade-V ESV. The EPA rates the standard-length two-wheel-drive Escalade at 15 city, 19 highway, and 17 combined mpg, so check the window sticker for the ESV's figures.

Technology, Comfort, and Features

Every Escalade ESV comes with Super Cruise, a 55-inch Horizon Display with a front-passenger screen, Google built-in, 22-inch wheels (24-inch wheels are available), a dual-pane power SkyGlass roof, heated and ventilated front seats, power-retractable assist steps, and a Surround Vision Recorder. Audio starts with the 21-speaker AKG Studio system, and the 38-speaker AKG Studio Reference system with Dolby Atmos is standard on the Platinum trims and optional on the Luxury and Sport. Dual 12.6-inch rear-seat entertainment screens are optional on the Luxury and Sport and standard on the Platinum, and an Executive Second Row Seating Package adds massaging, ventilated captain's chairs. Air Ride Adaptive Suspension comes with the Touring Package and is standard on the Platinum trims.

Escalade IQL: The Electric Option

Shoppers who want a long Escalade with no gas engine are really looking at the Escalade IQL, a separate electric vehicle built on a different platform in Detroit. For 2027 the IQ and IQL get a native NACS charge port, a standard 19.2 kW onboard charger, a new Signature Sport trim, and four new colors. Production is scheduled to start in December 2026, and Cadillac has not published 2027 IQ pricing.

Escalade ESV vs. Escalade: Which One Fits?

Choose the ESV if adults ride in the third row, you tow or haul gear regularly, or you want luggage and strollers behind the third row (41.5 cubic feet versus 25.5). Choose the standard Escalade if you park in tight spaces or a small garage, since the ESV is 15 inches longer. Both share the same engines, technology, and trims, and the ESV's towing rating is only 100 lbs lower.

When Can You Get a 2027 Escalade ESV?

Production of the 2027 Escalade began September 8, 2026 at Arlington Assembly in Texas, and GM has said Escalade production moves to Orion Assembly in Michigan in early 2027. Ask our team about availability and order timing.
